Based in Bruton, Somerset, Commune is a design-led self-care brand based in the rolling hills of Somerset. The brand draws on ancient herb-lore and the craft of natural perfumery to reconnect to the rhythms of nature, offering a range of intentionally designed self-care products. Commune was built with environmental responsibility in mind, which is reflected in their material choice of infinitely recyclable aluminium for their bottles and their crafting of bespoke accessories which are made to last.

More about Commune.

Kate Neal and Rémy Paringaux both came from fashion, and both wanted to make things that didn’t have a shelf life. While they were living in Canada, Kate began studying natural perfumery. At the start of Covid they moved to a hamlet near Bruton, in Somerset, and Commune grew from there.

You can see their thinking in the details most people never notice. The candles come with a cover cut from onyx. The hand wash and hand cream come in aluminium bottles that can be recycled again and again, with a pump they designed themselves and built to last.

None of it was necessary. They did it anyway.

"I was blown away by their use of natural ingredients and the attention to detail in all their packaging." -Gary

Care

Trim the wick to ¼ inch before every burn. On the first burn, keep it lit for a maximum of two hours so the wax melts evenly across the surface. Burn on a level, heat-resistant surface. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
